Researchers Reverse Alzheimer’s Memory Loss in Mice!

In an astounding new research study, scientists say they have discovered a way to regrow brain cells and reverse Alzheimer-related memory loss in mice!

The team with the University of Illinois-Chicago, found that the increasing production of neurons in a region of the brain known as the hippocampus transformed the lab rodent’s Alzheimer’s induced defects, as the new neurons were incorporated into memory circuits restoring normal function.

In the study, neurogenesis (the growth of neurons) was enhanced by deleting a gene called Bax, which is related to cell death in the neurons of the mice.
