Tim vs Aging – Day 49 – Fasting is Fun, and Other Lies, but Here’s the Deal

I can’t say that fasting is actually fun, but it is mostly a mental challenge rather than a physical one. The habits of eating at a certain time are powerful. But I do believe this is a very important part of the project.

In fact, I have run across this particular outline of what happens during a fast…

Fasting has a lot of benefits but after 7 days you go downhill fast…

You see that a lot of good things happen, you obviously start losing the fat (autophagy or “self eating”..).  If you can hit the 24-36 hour mark then growth hormones increase which has a great many restorative/anti-aging benefits for your body.

Note that a lot of the benefits of fasting happen after the 36 hour time hack which marks the end of my own fasting schedule. Not sure I want to go for the 3-day mark.

And “wanting” is a factor in my project and for anyone else who is pursuing an anti-aging project. I realize, after this much time, that I’ll need at least 6 months to show the extraordinary gains that I want to show. And I am not going to spend my life suffering through frequent 3-day fasts. It Just. Won’t. Happen.

But I can make sure that my one day per week extends to the 36-hour mark, which appears to be substantially better than 24 hours.  And the program that I am developing for myself should be effective without making me regret it.

And just so you know, at day 7 do you see the term “Metabolic Acidosis”? It means that acid has accumulated, and important parts will start to fail. You don’t want that…
